No haven't used the electric boxes
Have you thought of a way that is natural.. get a large tub.. smear peanut butter around inside the top part of the tub.. make it low enough that the rats and mice have to lean into the tub to get to it.. put some petroleium jelly around the top to make it slippery.. and half fill the tub with water.. for rats it would have to be high enough to stop them from trying to get out
They drown

Sorry to hear about your rat problem, we are lucky, we have an excellent rat catcher .... squat our cat, we've lived in this house just under 18months and so far he's come home with 3 monsters. Mind you our stupid council has opted for a complete non working system of giving us two bins, one green for garden waste and one black for household. They collect each one alternate weeks so the rubbish mounts up and the rats accumulate......... yuk. Sandy's method seems good. Good luck anyway.

personally i have either fenn mk4 traps set or live catch traps they seem to keep the ratd at bay , as for the sonic boxes through my work( i do pest control for a living ) i've seen rats and mice sitting near and on those devices.

My wife would have a fit if she saw these posts She used to have pet rats and loves all rodents. she`d go mental if she knew I had mouse traps in the garage where I keep the birds food and straw. I had a big fen trap, it was a bit big for the mice, it just shot them up into the air she nearly had a funeral for a mouse that drowned in a pot of paint, It must have thought "biscuit" was the contents of the tin and not the colour of the paint Robert
