They are pretty noisey little guys but as mine are still young I am yet to find that out !!! They shout alot when they are caught but apart from that a very quite. My mum used to keep adult guineas when I was younger and I remember them being noisey but only when they lost each other (which seemed to be more often than not !!!)

wow that is brilliant news. Well mine are now pretty big and they still aren't noisey, only when something threatens them infact they are very quite 99% of the time, they have saved our chooks twice once from a pouncing cat and once from a dog so they have more than earned there keep already. Let us know how you get on, I had 8 out of 9 eggs hatch but lost one at 1 week old so they are very strong chicks and I wouldnt be with out them now !!

I have 1 guinea fowl. Who can at times be very noisy but this might have something to do with the fact that he thinks he's a duck. I raised him with a duckling as i had no other guinea fowl chicks for him to go with at the time and he would have been lonely on his own. Seems to have bonded to it and follows the duck around every where.
Just out of interest can a guinea fowl be crossed with a chicken?

Weird! It is kind da cute. I saw one for sale at an aution once, that was being sold as a light sussex x guinea fowl. It didn't make alot of money but i suppose theres no use for them really. As their normally infertile.

I have two mulberry guinea fowl hens. I bought them off Nellie and she boght them down on the 2nd of january 2005. I lvoe them to bits, and they are really tame, and only make a noise when they are startled which isnt very often. They are really gd for alerting you to danger near the enclosure of ur bird pens, and they saved them once from a foz nearby. They are really cute, and I even have a site deidcated to the bird. www.freewebs.com/sillyguineas

Hi, I have 17 Guinea fowl at present and will probably stop when I reach 20. They are amazing birds, especially when they fly past in a flock.
Regards George.
