hi i am interested in whether people give something extra to thier chooks during breeding season or whether you can but a pellet like growers and layer ect especialy for breed purposes obviously i give poultry spice ect just wondered what everyone else does

I give pigeon conditioner mix. It is an old tip told to me by a very old poultry keeper.

If you intend to use the hen to hatch good quality chicks then she need to be in top condition to get them
Increase protein level in diet and add multi vitamins and minerals
Meaculpa... is doing the right thing with the pigeon conditioner.. this will be giving the birds the needed vitmains and minerals they need.. but I would also increase the protein level to have the eggs high in fat content and weight

Actually pigeon conditioner seed is high in protein. It contains peas, beans and other pulses. It is designed for getting racing pigeons into racing and breeding fitness. All pulses are naturally high in protein.
