Please can anyone answer my questions regarding the sex of our duck & the possible crime of fish theft! 1)- She is about 4 months old now - should we be able to tell the sex by now. I really want her to be a lady. She hasn't got any red yet. Is it a bit young to tell? Would anyone be willing to take a look at a picture of her & maybe tell if she's a lady? I could e-mail a photo. 2) - We have a pond. Which contained about 80 fish (we just moved here & the previous people left them) Various sizes, mainly goldfish. All healthy (or were!) The water is not very clear. We struggled to find a bath big enough for Jemima so started letting her swim in the pond. Suddenly there are no fish. This is all in a very short space of time, they've disappeared. Now Has Jemima been having fish & chips without the chips? Would she really catch & eat them all? There's just no other explanantion. Hubby has netted the pond right down to the bottom. Nothing in there!

hi smudgely, if you would like to e mail me a photo of the muscovy i will try to tell you what sex it is although it sounds like a female if there is no red on the face, as far as your other question goes a muscovy is actually a goose although known as a duck and will pretty much munch on anything, they like to filter the water through there beak so the fish may have got filtered as well and once she got a taste for them well what a nice snack they were and when are you going to fill the pond for her again. hope this helps

Thanks Duckmad. My husband is not too happy about Jemima eating all those fish . We knew she was making the pond a bit mucky but never crossed our minds she's eat all her little friends. We only moved here recently & the previous people left us a note saying - you are welcome to the fish please look after & care for them I'll mail you a photo of Jemima then, I know it's difficult to tell from a photo but I'd appreciate your thoughts. I'll mail you a photo I have from a few weeks ago, but I'll take a recent one to send you at the weekend. Thanks again.

Have sent you an e-mail Duckmad. She's changed a lot since those photos though. She's black and white now.
