Hi
the chicks that hatched 3 weeks ago, have been pecking eachothers feathers out in the brooder. Does any body know why they do this, is it boredam?
they have food, water, warmth. They get outside in the sunshine during the day. But out of the 10 chicks 3 have had their tail feathers pulled out leaving them sore around that area. As soon as we noticed , we seperated them to recover.
Any advise welcomed!

Hi snowball, sorry to hear about your poor little chicks. I have no idea of the problem but just a thought, it wouldnt be an early indication of the sex of the birds and the other are showing his or hers authority.
