Hiya all , i need some advice , i bought 4 new chooks about 2 weeks ago , introduced them to my other girls in the usual way , buy letting them see each other for a bit before putting them right in and i also put them in at night when all the other were roosting , anyway about a week or so later one of the new chooks gets a sore eye , i put this down to her being pecked by one of the others while they were sorting out the pecking order , then i noticed her other eye was weeping its all a clear weep , must be some sort of infection so i started to bath her eyes using some water with a bit of salt , now the other 3 new chooks have all got sticky eyes but the rest of my older girls are all fine . anyone any ideas ? Owww sounds like a trip to the vets ash when i got my first chickens last year they developed runny eyes after coming in contact with my maran she must have been ill when we picked her up cause within a week she was pretty bad, anyway it was just a case of antibiotics in the water and for a week and it totally cleared up !!! ;D Doris

hiya Doris, thanks for the reply one of my chooks is all better now , the other 2 are now in isolation and im doing the same with them a bit of salt in water and then cleaning there eyes. I think it must have been the stress of moving to a new home with other chooks to .
