Horrrrraaayyyy..Managed to get my big ('16x8') hen shed up today to house my Polands and Appenzellers. Saying i got it in October i think it was a bit of an achievement lol!! .. The weather has been so bad and with one thing and another time just slipped away!!.Hoping to get the runs on tomorrow as i am quickly getting short of space.

Hi Hyndburn hens, I too am building (with the help of 2 strong men !!!) a 16ft by 8ft shed at present we all work till 5pm so it has mostly been built with the aid of a flood light and serious winter clothing !! take a peek at my web site (under ' new breeding shed') there are lots of pics of the progress of it. More will be put on at the weekend when we hope to get some of the outside pens built. pekins4eva.4t.com Nellie

wow thats gret. I woz lucky with housing my birds, as we have some out buildings so they r in the smallest one of those. I have a number of birds, and luckily they all get on well together, so they can all be housed togther. Which is great Godd luck with the runs Fangs

Your Group pic... well aren't they just adorable I just loved the Gold Poland's and the Lavender Pekins
The chicks are just the cutest little things.. well apart from that 6 week old Silkie chicks.. talk about the ugly duckling (chick).. but don't they grow up to be the most magnificent birds
Also fantastic pics and job of your new breeding shed.. will give lots of people a good idea on how to set up for themselves
I also like the roosting all on one level.. I have the same at my place.. certainly stops all the bickering at roosting time.. and you always get the the top hen wanting to come in last and step on everyone...
You obviously love your chickens Congratulations.. job well done
