Hi - Not been on here for ages - so hello again everyone. we have been keeping chickens and ducks for about 12 months - we have 5 hens that we've had for a year & 3 younger ones that we've had for 6 months. The youngsters have just started to lay (one of them is laying blue eggs - which is a bit weird as she's supposed to be a wellsummer - but obviously isn't) Anyway - what I need to ask is - for about the last 2 or 3 weeks some of the eggs are being smashed - it is getting more frequent. Anyone know why? or any ideas what we can do about it? Thanks.

Hiya , welcome back , Hmm Could be that there all fighting over the same nest box , how many have they got to lay in ? Are they eating the smashed eggs ? If so try and find out which ones are doing it and isolate them and put in some pot eggs , they will soon get bored of pecking at a pot egg and getting no-where .
