hi all . we had lots of babbies delivered today lol we orderd some day old chicks about 2 months ago from a friend and this morning he rang to say he had hatched them on saterday, so me and my mum bless her lol then had to get the hatchery ready for the new arrivalls was a bit off a panic lol but there all here and settled in if not a little noicy for a while but they have gone all quiet and settled now awwww madcat

hi duckmad , they have settled down very well they look very happy and contented . we had some marrans ,brahma ,light sussex and rir . madcat xx

thats nice madcat hope they are all ok i want some info if anyone knows. after buying some goslings last week i was wndering at what age can they come off heat, i think they were about a week old when we bought them, definitely no more, they seem quite happy under the light but we are short of space surprisingly enough and could do with the pen for some younger stock by wednesday. i dont want to spoil them by taking them off heat too soon so any advice would be gratefully recieved, what do you think madcat, or anyone else thanks duckmad

Hi Duckmad, I usaully take my goslings off heat at about 4 weeks old as their quite big by then. Although i tend to turn the lamp on again at night (particularly when it's cold!) On warm days i put them outside in a sunny spot. Hope this helps
