Greetings from North Hykeham. I'm very new to poultry rearing. I acquired three maran/isa/orpington cross five week old chicks only three weeks ago. I built them a moveable ark and they seem quite contented on my back lawn. I let them out for a run around the garden most dry evenings. They are remarkably tame and will steal either my or the dog's dinner if given half an opportunity. I can't believe the rate at which they're growing! My Mrs has named them Chesty, Butterscotch and Dotty: it's best not to ask why! I'll send you some pics of the chicks and the ark as soon as I can cadge a digital camera from someone.
